To be mother …
Every mother in the world is an example of complete dedication, compassion and unreserved love. Motherhood often ignores any logical understanding and explanation, it simply can not be understood unless it is tested. Your mother probably never told you all the things you will learn today. She will never admit them, because the mother’s heart is great and good and will not recognize the difficulties she has experienced.
You drove her to cry … very much. She wept when she realized she was pregnant. She cried while she was giving you birth and when you was in her hands for the first time. She cried from happiness, sadness, worry, for all your problems and successes.
It hurt. She was hurt when you was pulling her hair when you scratched her with your nails when you kicked her while you was in her stomach. It hurt her a lot while she helped you to appear in this world.
She was always afraid. She was constantly afraid for you, from the moment she knew you was there. She waiting for you to come back from meeting with your friends. She’s ready to make all to be sure, that you’re okay.
She knows she is not perfect. She is her worst critic. She knows all her shortcomings and sometimes she hates herself for them, but she still tries to do her best for you. Sometimes she wants with all her heart to turn back time and fix all the mistakes she has made to you.
She kept you while you fall a slept. There were nights in which she was awake up to 3, praying to you fall asleep. She barely held her eyes open while she held you and sing a lullaby song. And when you finally got to sleep, she lay quietly next to you and watched your perfect face.
For her there is no more sad sound than your weeping and nothing more terrifying than the tears running down your cheeks. She did all she could for you to being happy.
She has always put you in the first place. She has not slept or eaten for you. She did not have time to take a shower. She has spent all days, satisfying only your needs, taking care of you only. And the next day – the same.
She can do everything again. Being a mother is the most difficult profession in the world and requires all the attention and dedication to which you are capable. You cry, you hurt, you are wrong and you learn. But you also experience all the joy of the earth, for there is nothing better than your baby.
